USB is an external bus standard used to regulate the connection and communication between industrial computers and external devices. Generally speaking, when the external equipment of the industrial computer is connected with the USB interface of the industrial computer, it can be automatically recognized by the industrial computer and can work normally. However, after some USB devices are connected to the industrial computer, they often show the following faults.

• The industrial computer can automatically identify the USB device, and it is normal to install the driver of the device. However, after installing the driver, it is found that the content of the device cannot be accessed, specifically, the drive letter of the device cannot be found, and the device cannot be used.
• The industrial computer can not automatically identify the USB device, the signal indicator light in the USB device is not bright or the state is not normal, and even the USB device will give out unusual sound, such as the USB interface hard disk if the power supply is insufficient, often hear the hard disk “kaka” abnormal operation sound.
• When no USB device is connected, the INDUSTRIAL computer can start normally, but after USB device is connected, the industrial computer cannot start normally, and there are error prompts, such as the startup file cannot be found or the startup file is damaged.
• The industrial computer can automatically identify the USB device, and the content of the USB device can also be accessed, but the access speed of the USB device is slow, and the USB device will suddenly appear access error when working for a long time, or the industrial computer will break down for no reason.

If the industrial computer fails to connect to the USB device, the first thing to consider is whether the power supply for the industrial computer is insufficient. If the fault is caused by insufficient power supply of the USB device, the solution is as follows.

• Industrial computer external power supply method: if the industrial computer in the mobile hard disk speed is particularly fast, its working current has sometimes reached the 1A standard, its power has exceeded the normal power double, must be equipped with a separate external power supply, in order to ensure the stability of USB equipment and operating system.
• Industrial computer interface replacement method: now USB device manufacturers often provide USB devices with several different connection interfaces, once the device can not get enough power from the USB interface, you can also use other low-power interfaces to connect, so as to ensure that the USB device can be used normally.
• Industrial computer power reduction method: Under normal circumstances, the power supply of each USB interface of the industrial computer is 0.5A. If the rated current of the USB device during normal operation exceeds this standard, the industrial computer will not be able to accurately identify the USB device. At this time, the only feasible way is to choose low power USB devices, or choose USB devices with independent power supply, in order to ensure the normal operation of USB devices.
